The Program RS 153 serves as a determination of surface(water) contamination as according to ATV-DVWK- Merkblattes M 153 "Handlungsempfehlungen zum Umgang mit Regenwasser" (02/2000). With RS 153, the rain discharge from paved surfaces including the air, water and land drainage are evaluated. In order to fullfil the instruction concerning the water load, if it is necessary, reduction measure is considered. With RS153, the necessary measures for the treatment as in Appendix 2 ATV-DVWK-M153 , can be documented as accordingly and their extent can be specified.
Grundlagen
The instruction contains recommendations regarding the quantitatively and qualitatively treatment of rain water in modified drainage system or in separate systems. The following connections are examined:

| • | Need of protection of groundwater |
| • | Need of protection of surface water |
| • | When necessary, the rainwater treatment before a treatment before an infiltration or before an introduction into surface waters. |
With the help of simplified evaluation method, the pollution can be evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively from ground and surface water coming from roof, traffic surfaces, pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles. The instruction card result an effective protection of water from excessive loads as expected, if the necessary rainwater treatment takes place as according to the instruction stated in M153.
With the recommendation for run-off coefficient from Table 2, the, considering the type of mounting, the impermeable surface is determined. It is the sum of all attached catchment areas, multiplied by the corresponding run-off-coefficient. In the given procedure, the qualitative water load is then determined.
The data acquisition takes place in tabular form. For different parameters in each case, the search and selection windows are available. All tables of the instruction are integrated in RS153. The complete treatment- Collection, Evaluation and computation takes place interactively on the screen.
The collection of the detailed project description and the general explanations takes place with efficient text processing programs. This also makes possible to insert the picture and the organization information possible.
ATV-DVWK-instructions can be faded in the program window, if these are available only in pdf format. This offers itself in particular for the transfer of text and as a reference work. The pre and post processing of the files take place just as data output with Microsoft Word.
Data output
Following the instruction on page M153, Appendix 2, the main data (*.dot) are provided. The computation results are generally presented over the text processing word. The program uses heading and footing lines. By the use of text marks, the casting of user is individually configurable.
The example in the left is provided with the program RS153 with the content and layout of the example regarding example Nr. 2 in the Appendix 3 of Merkblattes M153.
