With KANALPLOT, channel profiles can be drawn. The data are adopted from the programs HYKAS and GraPS respectively. The profiles can be automatically controlled by GraPS using the cross section lines, symbols for house connection, Groundwater table, Basement elevation, Ground floor elevation, Intermediate floor elevations and additional boundary line. In addition, KANALPLOT can process parallel pipes.
General
The program draws complete profiles including all legends. Inflows are marked automatically and drawn in with subsistence designation for bed level, diameter and street name. The street name is annotated vertically on the manhole cover. A positional sketch is alternatively drawn above the line with lateral supplies, by which inlet angle and direction of flow are shown in each case.
With appropriate data input, the program plots the intermediate points.
The font properties (text, type, height, color) can be specified individually as according to the concerning contents.
Cross section profiles can be drawn upstream or downstream from the selected position.
The headers used by KANALPLOT are not bounded to any case and can be created freely regarding the content and format. The following data are available:Bed Elevation, Channel depth, Ground elevation, vfull,Qfull, vpartial,Qpartial, Bed slope, Nominal diameter, Total Length, Manhole Length, Street, conduit length, Manhole number, Kb-value, Previous Bed elevation, Previous Nominal diameter, Conduit length, Manhole/Pipe length, Water level elevation and Ground Level line. Morever empty fields can also be observed. In addition, a ground line (eg original) can be drawn.
It can process (e.g. Existing and Planned, Wastewater and Storm water) for parallel as well as for cross pipes.
The manhole labelling can be done alternatively down or above the ground surface elevation.
As per requirement, KANALPLOT can adjust additional texts in longitudinal direction, plot the stamp of the company and the legends as well.
The notation for the datum level (e.g. NN or HN) can be selected eitherwise.
The base elevation can alternatively be given on profile level by which page numbers are counted automatically, or Maximum possible base elevation can be set on.
Planned and existing channels can be represented differently. All lines are freely selectable for its width, color and line type.
While plotting longitudinal profile, the information "Flow to Pipe Nr. xx" along with the street name is mentioned automatically.
Pressurized pumping lines can be drawn with KANALPLOT.
In addition, KANALPLOT can plot various other symbols as according to DIN 2425 in the Longitudinal Profile drawing. The following symbols are available: In-house service pipe connection direction (left, right), Basement floor level, Ground floor level, Ground water level, Crossing lines.
With KANALPLOT, the existing profile can also be drawn (Neither hydraulic calculation nor sorting of the channel network required).
The size of the profile is computed when desired and the result (dimensioning) is shown at the screen before plotting the drawing.
Data output
The design can be plotted directly in the plotter/printer or in a plot file.
In connection with the program CADEX , the profile can be previewed on screen or drawn directly in AutoCAD ( R 2000 or later). CADEX also makes the possibility of saving the data in various formats like DXF- or DWG-Format.
Data exchange
The data exchange between the following Rehm-Programs is not necessary as they use the same database:
| • | KAREL | Channel information system |
| • | GraPS | Graphical planning system for Sewer and Water Supply nets |
| • | HYKAS | Computation of Duct system |
| • | MENKOS | Quantity and Cost estimation |
| • | WERT | Property valuation for Sewage Network |
Application limitations
Application statistics is corresponding to HYKAS (e.g. max. 10,000 conduits). The number of the sheet stamps, fonts and input for the cross section list is not limited.
