Program RS138

The Program RS 138 serves for calculation of central and decentralized infiltration as according to DWA-Arbeitsblatt A 138 (04/2005). Furthermore RS 138 supports the dimensioning of depression - infiltration ditch - systems. Besides the calculation with "Heavy rainfall depth for Germany (KOSTRA)", the Local rainfal l-Storm water events and Rainfall model can be used. To keep compatibility to ATV- A 138 (1990), alternatively, another precipitation process can be set after Reinhold.

Basics of design

Screen - shots

The program solves as according to 'Arbeitsblatt A 138 design tasks for surface infiltration, depression infiltration , infiltration ditch seepage, pipe infiltration, shaft infiltration (type A and type B), infiltration basisns as well as as well as depression - infiltration ditch - systems.

With the freely selectable recurrence interval of the rain events, for every infiltration elements the iterative calculation is done, which requires the largest storage volume. Also the duration for emptying is also determined by the program.

RS 138 checks all the included and computed values as a plausibility check. With upper and lower deviation from DWA-A 138 from the specified boundary value, RS 138 can generate the corresponding warnings.

Optionally, the calculation for the seepage/infiltration can be calculated by site specific rain analysis and modelling in the form of rain series in the program. The rain series can be seen or printed graphically and/or in tabular form.

As a modular component of the program RS 138 is Trough-Trench-System. With this, upt o 100 depression - infiltration ditch elements in a system can be linked.

The calculation can be done with two methods:

Method 1:

The length of infiltration ditch as an input data is set to zero. Because of the inflows from the above lying trough and trench as well as the infiltration and the throttle discharge of the individual elements, the necessary minimum length of the trench is determined by the program.

Method 2:

The drain length is already in the input data. In this case, the program calculate the full elevation and eventually the reduced throttle discharge of the infiltration ditch or indicates the increased throttle discharge (overflow activation), if the selected ditch discharge is not sufficient with the appropriate ditch length to derive the inflow.

Both calculation methods can also be combined and used in one calculation run.

Calculation result

Data output

The data output is subdivided into a first page with the computation parameters and a net statistics as well as separate sheets for the input and result data. The data output can be seen in the print preview. From there, the result can be printed and/or be exported over the clipboard or in the rtf and HTML format.

Application limitations

Every project can include and use as much rain models as possible. The duration of each Rain model can be up to 600 minutes.

The number of surfaces, trough, trench, pipeline and manhole seepage as well as the number of infiltration basins are not limited.

The computation of the depression - infiltration ditch - systems for each project can be up to maximum 100 numbers of trough-trench-elements.
